For SoundSend to work properly your HDMI cable must be at least 1.4 HDMI (must say "HIGH-SPEED HDMI with ETHERNET") to transfer get the eARC signals and communicate with your TV's CEC implementation.
HDMI 2.0 cables also provide excellent compatibility.
